Your Day – Your Vehicle - Your Guide

Your guide will meet you in the morning, either before, during, or after breakfast. Like everything else on the day, timing is up to you. Plans for the day are made at this point, taking into account the weather and what you want to see and do.

Before your adventure begins, we’ll have details from you in terms of what you’d like to do, where you’d like to go, and how hard you’d like the pace to be!  We'll also have your dietary and drink preferences so we can assure our gourmet pantry and drink fridge is well stocked. This helps us ensure we’re fully prepared for the day, based on your expectations and ability levels.

The idea is to show you the Cape whilst out on its trails and waterways. Where you go and what activities you do are up to you and in most cases the day often unfolds with a number of unexpected twists and turns, so that even your guide has no idea where you’ll end up on any given day. That’s why we carry all the equipment we need for the day with us.

Where We Go?

Our most popular adventures explore Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsular all within 40 minutes’ drive from the centre of Cape Town although you’ll hardly believe it. However we love to travel further afield to the adventure playgrounds of the Wine Lands and Overberg Region all do able in a day from Cape Town. Cycle amongst the vineyards or on some of the country’s top single track. Paddling down the Breede River or across the Hermanus Lagoon. Explore the remote Fynbos trails of the Overbergs nature reserves. Whale watch from cliff tops or on the water.

Stand Up Paddling – If this is a new sport to you (or need a refresher session) we often start with a paddle through the V&A Waterfront Canals, stopping off for a coffee at one of the hotels. A fun way to start the morning with Table Mountain as your back drop, and in the safety of the wind-protected canals. If Stand Up Paddling happens to be your thing, other places we venture to include the coves at Simons Town, normally flat seas with the chance of bumping into the odd penguin! Another option could be a Constantia wine farm dam with the choice of some well-earned wine tasting afterwards. We can also venture into the surf and give Stand Up Paddling a go at the best surf beach given the prevailing conditions. Further afield we often take trips down the Breede River which winds through the winelands.

Mountain Biking – Table Mountain and surroundings has a number of exhilarating routes, especially on the lower slopes. We choose the routes based on your experience and where we are visiting. A very popular option is mountain biking through the winelands, leaving those who want to take it easy in the capable hands of a wine maker while the others hit the trails through the vineyard. This works well if you want to stop for a more substantial restaurant lunch rather than the picnic supplied. We also cruise down the road through Cape Point - mostly downhill,  with staggering ocean views.

Hiking – Hiking is the ultimate way to get off the tourist trail.  We often start from popular sites such as Kirstensbosh Gardens, Cape Point Nature Reserve or the top of Table Mountain itself, and after the initial half hour you’ll be lucky to see another tourist again as we venture down one of the many hiking trails the Cape has to offer.

Surfing – Either learn from scratch at Surfers Corner in Muizenberg or get to the surf spots only the locals know. Our professional surf guide gets as much out of helping someone catch their very first wave as she does sharing a local spot with a more experienced surfer. For those who would rather watch we always pick a spot that allows for a good view and chance to tuck into our gourmet goodies.

All the stuff in between – Whilst having an adventure is the aim of the day we also want to show off the best of Cape Town, so your day will also include stopping off at some of the key places to visit. More often than not we do this on a bike, board or by foot. We can also incorporate other must-do activities into the day such as horse riding down a wild beach, paragliding from Lions Head, abseiling off Table Mountain or visiting a vineyard and resident wine maker. We’ll throw in some idea’s - you just need to let us know what you want to do.
