Location of Loisaba Lodge
Loisaba Lodge is located in a private 61,000 hectare private ranch and wildlife conservancy in the Laikipia area in central Kenya. The lodge is on an escarpment with stunning views over the plains literally as far as the eye can see. There are sister properties scattered around the conservancy with Loisaba House nearby suitable for groups and larger families and Loisaba Cottage is 9km from the main lodge. It is perfect for 2 couples for those who want that extra bit of privacy. The 2 star bed are about a 30min drive from the lodge and a must do.

Loisaba Lodge is perfect for those with a bit of an adventurous side. The activities on offer here are second to none and include horse riding, camel trekking, kayaking, fishing, quad biking and helicopter excursions.
For those who want to chill out, Loisaba Lodge offers stunning colonial luxury and makes a great first stop on a safari for some pampering and relaxation. It combines brilliantly with a Masai Mara safari as there is a daily direct flight from Loisaba to the Masai Mara.

Game viewing at Loisaba Lodge
The Game viewing here isn’t bad. You’ll see plains game, lions and elephants. If you are very lucky you’ll see the leopard. There is a resident Leopard that lives at the bottom of the escarpment that Loisaba is built on and you will be taken to a lookout post there for a sun downer where you will hopefully see him. Loisaba doesn’t offer a full on game experience so it is recommended that you combine this with somewhere like the Masai Mara for a fuller animal experience.

Loisaba Lodge consists of 7 en-suite bedrooms with a large wooden deck with stunning views over the escarpment. The communal library and lounge areas are stunning. With several library areas, a roaring fireplace and stunning look out deck, it really feels like stepping back into the colonial era. The pool is the perfect place to cool off and relax.
The House not far away is perfect for large groups or families, the cottage for smaller groups and with the fully serviced Kiboko and Koijo star beds a must do for romantic couples and honeymooners.

- 'star beds' separate from the lodge overlooking a waterhole or Ewaso Nyiro River. Each is designed on a raised, handcrafted, wooden platform partially covered with a thatched roof. Homemade ‘Mukokoteni’ can be wheeled onto the open deck for a night under the stars. (Must be booked in advance)
