The Red Pepper House provides a combination of real African culture and laid back beach life. Comprising of only five beautiful and spacious Nyumbas, (the Swahili name for home), the Red Pepper House is perfectly integrated into its natural surroundings and covered by a Makuti thatched roof. Local artists and builders took part in the construction of the property using techniques passed down from their ancestors. The main house is filled with Swahili art, one off colonial style pieces and antiques from all over the world. There are no walls throughout the main house allowing guests to enjoy views out to the beach and forest that surrounds. Guests have their very own personal butler who is on hand to bring refreshing cocktails and delicious food to the Nyumbas at any time of day. Enjoy a trip into Lamu town to soak up the Swahili culture and visit the ruins of the city of Takwa or take a sunset trip on a dhow around Lamu Island and have champagne under the stars. Deep sea fishing is an exciting way to spend the morning before returning to the hotel for an indulgent massage and a spot of lunch by the sea. A short trip by speed boat out to the reefs and guests can snorkel with turtles, dolphins and a beautiful array of unusual fish.
