Eight years' experience with a luxury European Villa company and then managing the Africa department for one of UK’s largest travel companies taught Ingram how to combine the cultured European travel ethos with the excitement of Africa. Engaged in Seychelles, married in Durban honeymooned in Malawi, Ingram really does live his love for Africa.

South African and Zulu speaking, yet with 7 years as a corporate lawyer in London, Georgie learnt the hard way how long hours and even longer winters make the allure of her continent such an appealing escape. She is now dedicated to finding unique places in Southern Africa for those looking to make their own inspirational escapes. 

After working for 7 years at one of the largest tour operators in the UK, Hazel not only joined the To Escape To team but also made the move from rural Sussex to Cape Town. She now uses her wealth of experience and passion for travel to bring her personal touch to every holiday itinerary she puts together. 

Sheena is the keeper of the purse strings and ensures the rest of the staff are kept in check. In between running a family including two teenage daughters, she makes sure everything is ship-shape at the office. But don’t let her organization ability fool you – she plays a mean game of squash, enjoys a round or two of golf and is more than capable of giving an expert opinion on the Cape Wines over a glass or two. 

From the Cape Town Township of Khayelitsha, Constance joined us as our Cape Town cleaner but it was not long before she swapped her feather duster for a computer following completion of an accounts course, which was funded through To Escape To sponsorship. She is now a vital part of the accounts team and taking on more responsibility on a regular basis. 

Mark joined to help start up our South American portfolio by loading properties onto the website. Mark now manages and maintains our websites, designing adverts and flyers and is constantly learning more about the travel industry. 

Bryony spent 7 years travelling every part of the World, as a dancer. Four of those years were on world cruises exploring, amongst many areas, the African Coast, Indian Ocean & South America. She now manages all of the administrative activities to keep the UK office running smoothly. 

Leaving school and heading straight to the bush Phill has spent more time in the wild than most of  the animals he’s tracking. As a head ranger for a collection of Southern Africa’s top lodges we are excited he’s now chosen to be our very own private guide. 

Whether you want tailored surf trips along both the west and east coasts of South Africa or just an introduction to surfing in Cape Town, Mandy offers clients both a ‘beginner surf package’ as well as ‘guided surf trips’ for the more experienced surfer. Mandy is on hand to take To Escape To clients surfing in South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Seychelles or any surf destination. 

Matt walked into our office barefoot and with a full beard fresh from a trans-Okavango fishing expedition; together we came up with a concept that we believe is a first for Africa. Africa is a place full of adventure, but not everyone has the time circumnavigate an Indian Ocean Island or hike the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Matt offers short private adventures of 3 days or more tailored to your interest and fitness levels. With a full mobile camp set up, top of the range mountain bikes and kayaks, 3 African languages and 20 years’ experience in the bush Matt will get you into the wilds, sleeping under the stars and on an adventure of a lifetime. 

Possibly the best job in the world! Our DOPEs spend the time we don’t have in each of our destinations to uncover the smaller places that don’t appear in brochures and advise us on how to experience each destination as a local. Our specialists visit their destinations 2 or 3 times a year but the DOPE’s take things a step further by staying a week or sometimes as long as a month exploring a destination in detail to train us back in the office and add the best travel advice available to our travel guides. A Grandad seven times over and father of Ingram, Grant was lucky enough to retire at 40 and has been travelling ever since. With a serious dislike for the UK winter, Grant spends 4 months of the year visiting our destinations spending the time we don’t have to write guides on experiencing each destination like a local. He’s sought out many of our now favourite little gems that just cannot be found in travel brochures. He’s also taught the younger members of the team that age is no barrier to Inspirational Travel: a self-appointed DOPE - Developing Overseas Product Executive.  

Having helped build To Escape To as our Financial Manager, the allure of Africa was too much and Richard swapped his calculator for a compass to become a To Escape To adventurer. Not your standard chartered accountant, Richard spent 3 months canoeing the coast from Kenya to South Africa and driving his beloved Landrover from Cape Town to the Serengeti. We are lucky to have Richard on board checking out accommodation and experiences in the most remote corners of Africa.

Born in Zimbabwe and having captained the South African rugby team, you won’t find anyone more passionate about Africa. Now a TV presenter and commentator, Bob is lucky enough to spend most his year travelling. Passionate about an outdoor lifestyle- be it fishing, surfing or taking his children on adventures- Bob spends the time we don’t have at our destinations seeking out and advising on the best lifestyle options.
